Designing Flat Email App UI in Photoshop
I wanted to create user interface for an email app. I couldn't decide about how much details should be included in this work. After giving it some thought, I decided to start by making a flat interface. Once I create all the screens that I want to create, I will transform it into material design. If I keep enjoying it then I might consider turning it into an old style layout with realistic looking components.
In this post I will walk the steps I took to create the list view. It is the section of the app where emails are displayed in a list. I will give it the title "Inbox". I am using Adobe Photoshop CC 2018.
Step 1
In Photoshop go to File →New. Then choose "Mobile". Select the default "Android" layout and click Create as shown below.

A new workspace will open with an Artboard already created in accordance with the standard Android dimensions.
First we are going to create a notification bar.
